The residual water is still stagnant and quite dirty, so a submersible pump for the pool cover is a good partner for leaf net covers. With a safety net or mesh safety cover like the loop lock pool cover cleaning is barely an issue.. Mesh covers allow water to drain through the cover, and never stay on top long enough to stagnate. Loop lock pool covers fit flat and tight over the top of the pool (resembling a trampoline surface). Water cannot dangerously puddle on them, and often a hose or long-handled broom will work to sweep away any remaining debris before the cover is removed.
