What pool wear will you and your family of swimmers be in this summer?
Families that own swimming pools need an abundance of swimsuits and other pool wear. And just one set won’t do. Swimming families are likely to be in their pools everyday. In order to avoid a daily scramble of pool wear washing, there needs to be enough pool, swim wear and accessories to keep a fresh supply on hand with ease.
So what swimming and pool wear essentials does every swimming family need?
The basics. Bathing suits. One piece, two piece, men’s, women’s, boys, and girls. Polka dot bikinis, tankinis, swim dresses, board shorts - it’s all out there. Each family swimmer should have two at minimum; three or more makes laundering less of an issue.
Wraps and sarongs. Poolside loungers often prefer a little bit of a wrap when they are out of the pool. Wraps and sarongs give deck dwellers the comfort of more of a clothed feeling. Girls and ladies also like to have a small dress style cover-up nearby. Cover ups let lady swimmers throw on a quick piece of clothing for pool breaks and quick jaunts to the store without having to change fully every time they leave the pool.
Pool Towels. Pool towels need little explanation.. No house mother wants dripping wet children and guests tromping through their home. A set of pool towels kept in a pool house or near other pool supplies ensure household decorator towels are not left fading in the sun. Terry cloth towel wraps and hooded poncho-style towels are ideal for keeping swimmers and children shielded from the sun.
Summer hats. Every health professional recommends sun dwellers wear wide brimmed hats to keep faces and necks out of the sun as a skin cancer preventative.
Sunscreen. Sunscreen may not technically be pool wear in the sense that it is not clothing, but no day spent in or near the pool should start without sunscreen. Skin cancer rates are on the rise as we find more and more enjoyment in the sun. Delicate skin needs to be protected. Choose an SPF no lower than 15, and make sure it is waterproof for pool activities. Reapply every two to four hours (or as directed on the sunscreen bottle) on dry skin.
With this quick list of swimming and pool wear essentials, every family with a pool is ready for the fun and relaxation awaiting them at their backyard swimming pool. Having a good variety of pool wear including all the pieces swimmers will be looking for ensures fun, easy summer swimming all season long.
